Here I am beginning a new *fun* series - this is really the heart of what I love to do - go out in public, see places, do things and meet new people! Fortunately, I have been severely blessed to have this title of Owner and Publisher for Macaroni Kid South Brevard. Since we have a very large following of almost 10,000 local family subscribers who get our e-newsletter every week, I get a lot of amazing opportunities that I don't take for granted at all. (Don't be hating - I've been doing this e-newsletter for no pay for over a year now!)
So here are three of my most recent adventures out and about. Also don't judge, I have a teething 7 month old beauty and a 3 year old toddler precious face, so getting out is rare!
Children's Halloween Ball - Friday October 20
Last Friday evening, my sweet 3 year old and myself took some friends with us to the first ever Children's Halloween Ball, courtesy of Santa by Scott Entertainment. This was held at the Grand Manor in Melbourne and was a sit down reception and party for Princess Aurora's 16th birthday! So many Princesses and Princes came to celebrate the occasion, including Princess Elena, Tiana, Jasmine and Aladdin, Cinderella, Ariel and Moana. Not only that, but every single princess (and prince) sat at our tables, took photos with every guest, danced with every guest and went above and beyond to make us feel like royalty!
In the middle of this birthday presentation, villians crashed the party to steal the spotlight. It all began with (of course) Maleficent. Alongside her were Ursula, Cruela DeVil, the Queen of Hearts, Hades and more! They had time to sing some current songs that represent their characteristics while we danced away. Ex: The Queen of Hearts sang "Poker Face" by Lady GaGa. And you betcha, these villians hung out with us, danced with us and took photos with us!
6th Annual Harvest Festival, Saturday October 21
Last Saturday, October 21 was the 6th Annual Harvest Festival, courtesy of Viera Voice. Me and #LilBitty - teething and all - set up shop and had crafts and waterbeads for our guests! It was my first time setting up my kiddie folding table and having the waterbeads for them to play with. I even had parents sitting down and stroking those things for 5-10 minutes straight!
You bet I'll have these at all my future events (including this Sunday at the Space Coast Halloween Expo) - parents and kids enjoyed "On the Spot Therapy," and heck, only one kid tried to eat the waterbeads...at least one that I know of.
LaPorte Farm
I've been really wanting to check this place out, since we have a bunch of their events on our Community Event Calendar. I was very surprised to see even non-farm animals here at LaPorte Farms, such as monkeys, tortoises, huge geese and lots of fish to go fishing for! They do $5 pony rides for the kids and have lots of cute photo opps as well. Definitely a place to check out!
