This is an uncertain time, and things seem to be changing by the day -- if not the hour -- with coronavirus and the reaction to it as health officials and the government try to slow its spread. We know this is a difficult time for many and we are dealing with things we have never had to deal with before. With fear of illness, losing jobs and major life changes, let's do our best to be kind and be patient with one another. Brevard County School Closure:
As you are probably already aware, all Florida schools have been closed until April 15th, however online education will begin March 30th. If you do not have internet access at home, Charter Communications is offering FREE broadband and WIFI access - Call 1-844-488-8395. If you do not have access to a computer or iPad at home, contact your school's principal. Follow Brevard County Public Schools for the latest updates on school closures and other information regarding students.
Brevard County Public Schools will open several schools as food distribution centers beginning on Monday, March 23rd – Friday, March 27th, from 10:30am–1:30pm. Find all locations HERE.
Community Events & Activity Cancellations:
South Brevard events are being canceled and I have marked them as such on the events calendar as I hear about them. But I always recommend verifying event details with the venue before you attend, and it is especially important to do so right now as South Brevard events may be canceled with little to no notice. Macaroni Kid South Brevard will update our calendar as we hear of cancellations.
- Home Depot, Lowe's and Micheals have canceled their kids' workshops nationwide for the time being.
- Disney World, Universal Studios and Sea World have all shut down. Disney has also closed all of its hotels and stores.
- All Beach parking and parks are now closed.
- The Brevard County Libraries are closed, but you can now use their elibrary services regardless of late fees or overdue books.
- The Brevard Zoo is closed.
- Fit4mom has moved to virtual classes and playdates.
- Gymboree Play & Music is closed, but they will be offering some virtual fun! Follow them on Facebook!
- Nicole Cote School of Dance, Arts for All Studio and Morgan's Place are all closed until further notice.

Restaurant & Bar Closures:
Governer Desanti has called all Bars and Nightclubs to close for 30 days. Restaurants can remain open, but can only offer take-out or delivery. Please Remember to support small business during this tough time.
Fast-food chains have closed their dining rooms, but are offering drive-thru service. Burger King is offering 2 free kids meals with every adult purchase if you order through their app.
Please watch the CDC, the Florida Department of Health, and the Brevard County Health Department for the latest news.
And, of course, please take care of yourselves and your family. (But leave some toilet paper for the rest of us 😜)
While it is important that we all practice social distancing at this time, that doesn't mean you can't have any fun! Take a walk outside, fill up the baby pool, bake cookies, or complete a craft project! We also have some great online resources listed below!

- Take a virtual tour of 12 famous museums
- Try a Cosmic Kids Yoga class on Youtube.
- Actor Josh Gad Is Reading Books to Kids Online Every Night During Coronavirus Quarantines
- Laurie Berkner will be doing live Berkner Breaks.
- Storyline Online has great videos of celebrities reading kid's books!
- Cincinnati Zoo offering Home Safari Facebook Live each weekday at 3pm where they will highlight one of their animals and include an activity you can do from home.
